The Liquid Sky Reforestation Project is a one-of-a-kind, artist-driven initiative tackling climate change in one of Europe's most affected regions: southern Alentejo, Portugal.
Unlike corporate or government-backed efforts, this project is entirely funded by artists, musicians, filmmakers, DJs, and journalists – a true grassroots movement for ecological restoration. The next ambitious goal? 77.727 cork and stone oaks planted across 4.4 hectares by 2026. Unlike commercial reforestation, these trees will never be harvested for profit; instead, they will help restore a vital ecosystem for generations to come.
Using innovative planting techniques and natural soil regeneration, the project combats extreme climate conditions and sets a new standard for sustainable reforestation. More than just planting trees, it’s about proving that a dedicated creative community can make a real environmental impact – independent, long-term, and beyond commercial interests.
